The overall strategy
The project approach will facilitate the development and demonstration of new technologies. It will also enable the dissemination of best practice, technology transfer and help develop international co-operation to the broader international community who are active in the field of mineral resources management and earth observations. These activities hinge on the use of the latest advances in remote sensing science (many of them financed through earlier EC programmes) and access to data acquired by various Earth observing (EO) satellites to characterise the state and evolution of changes in the environment. Developing a reliable and harmonised pool of applied EO knowledge will foster greater environmental awareness of available mineral resources and enhance how we monitor sustainability and competitiveness aspects The project intends to provide services and products that are combined, customised, and supplemented by various information elements to create deliverables designed to meet specific policy driven requirements of users.
